What we Believe

The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Old and New Testaments of the Bible are given by inspiration of God, are without error and are the final authority for faith and life. We believe that God not only inspired them, but He has also preserved them.  We believe that the King James Version is the preserved Word of God for the English-speaking people and therefore is the translation used in this church.  (Psalm 12:6-7, II Timothy 3:16, I Peter 1:23-25, II Peter 1:19-21).

The Godhead

We believe in one Triune God that is revealed in the pages of the Holy Bible.  We believe He exists in three coequal, eternal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, I John 5:7, James 1:17, I Timothy 1:17).

God the Father

We believe God is the only Heavely Father and is Father only to those who receive Jesus Chris as Saviour; that He is perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power; that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; and He hears and answers prayer; and that He alone is the object of our worship and praise (Psalm 65:2, 139: 1-24, 147:5, Matthew 23:9, 5:45, 6:24-34; John 14:6; I Timothy 2:5).

God the Son

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the second person of the Triune God, the eternal Word and only Begotten Son; that without any lessening of His Deity He became man by miracle of virgin birth, thus to continue forever as both true God and true man, one person, with two natures; that as man he was tempted in all points as we are, yet without sin; that as the perfect Lamb of God He gave Himself in death upon the cross, becoming there the sin of the world and suffering its full penalty of Diving wrath in our place; that He arose bodily from the grave and was glorified; that He is the ony way of salvation; that He alone is the head of the Church; that as our great High Priest He ascended into Heaven, there to appear before the face of God as our Advocate and Intercessor (Matther 1:20; Luke 1:26-28; John 1:1-2; 1 John 5:20; I Corinthians 15:1-4; Hebrews 4:14-16).

God the Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit, who is the third person of the Trinity, and the divine agent in nature, revelation, and redemption; that He convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgement; that He regenerates, indwells, seals and anoints all who become children of God through faith in His only begotten Son Jesus Christ.  All children of God are baptized by the Holy Spirit at salvation.  He further empowers, guides, teaches, sanctifies, and fills believers who daily surrender to Him (John 14:16-17, Romans 8:14-27; I Corinthians 12:13; II Corinthians 13:14).

Sin and Salvation

We believe all people are by nature and choice sinful and lost; that man was the direct creation of God, made in His image and likeness; that by personal disobedience to the revealed will of God, man became a sinful creature, is universally sinful in both nature and practice; that man is totally depraved and, and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.  Thus every person is alienated from the life and family of God, under the righteous judgement and wrath of God, and has within himself no possible means of salvation. We believe that man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God. We believe that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, are totally depraved, and for those who reach an ag of accountability, they must be born again to be accepted of God (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:10, 22-23, 5:12, 6:23; Galatians 3:22; Ephesians 2:1-3, 4:17-19; John 3:5-17).

The Church

We believe that the church began with the calling out of the twelve apostles by Jesus Christ and was empowered on the day of Pentecost. We believe the local church is composed of saved members who have been baptized according to the command of Christ and have voluntarily united together for the purposes of worship, fellowship, service, and observance of the ordinances of baptism and communion. We believe all true believers will be taken up at the rapture, prior to the tribulation. (Matthew 16:16-18; Acts 1:15; Acts 2:41-43; Acts 11:15; Acts 20:28; I Corinthians 15: 51-58; Ephesians 1:12-14; Ephesians 5:25-30; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Timothy 3:4-15)

Separation

We believe that all the saved should live in a manner that does not bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord; and that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices, and associations is a command of God. (Romans 12:1-2; 14:13; II Corinthians 6:14-7:1; II Timothy 3:1-5; I John 2:15-17; II John 9-11)

Creation

We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the gap theory, the day-age theory, theistic evolution, and intelligent design not attributed to God as unscriptural theories of origin. (Genesis 1-2; Exodus 20:11)

Civil Government

We believe God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions: 1) the home, 2) the church, and 3) the state. Every person is subject to these authorities, but all (including the authorities themselves) are answerable to God and governed by His Word. God has given each institution specific Biblical responsibilities and balanced those responsibilities with the understanding that no institution has the right to infringe upon the other. The home, the church and the state are equal and sovereign in their respective Biblically assigned spheres of responsibility under God (Romans 13:1-7; Ephesians 5:22-24; Hebrews 13:17; I Peter 2:13,14).

Missions

We believe that God has given the church a great commission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations so that there might be a great multitude from every nation, tribe, ethnic group, and language group who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. As ambassadors of Christ, we must use all available means to go to the foreign nations and not wait for them to come to us. (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:46-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8, II Corinthians 5:20)
